The YMCA has been America’s leading swim instructor for more than 100 years. But our aquatics programs extend beyond instruction. We also provide recreational, competitive and specialty aquatics programs for all ages and abilities, including parent-child classes, water exercise and therapy, water safety and rescue, and water sports. Programs and classes vary by location.


Youth Swim Lessons

The YMCA is committed to help swimmers develop the whole person in spirit, mind, and body. During our session, swimmers learn to swim, improve on swimming skills, learn water safety, build relationships with others, and have fun. Our session includes five components – personal growth, personal safety, rescue skills, stroke development, and fun and games. These five components build confidence in each individual swimmer, inside the water and out. Swim lessons are an all around positive experience for everyone involved because they give participants a chance to be exposed to a positive environment. Swim lessons are a mutually beneficial experience for students and teachers.
