Endowment income is very important for YMCA program expansion and outreach.
Only the earnings from endowment contributions help finance the important work of the YMCA, while providing a resource base that will enable YMCA leaders to plan more effectively for the future. A consistent effort to build endowment funds for the YMCA of Lansing has been in place since 1995.
The Heritage Club of the YMCA of Lansing, a recognition society of endowment donors, was established in 1996. Our charter members then numbered 21; to date we honor 47 donors who wish to leave a legacy of secure YMCA services for generations to come. Many donors become involved through cash gifts, gifts of appreciated assets, or through wills, charitable trusts and life insurance policies.
